Coar was founded in December 1963, under the original name of Aurum, by Carlo Baracchi, who at the age of 18 started his business in a small workshop in Giovi, Italy.
The company began specializing in the manufacture of hollow chains and plates, or so-called ‘tag bracelets’. Subsequently, it expanded its product range, distinguishing itself as a leading manufacturer of hollow gold rope chains.
In the early 2000s, riding a wave of change, the company inaugurated a new era through three major acquisitions, making Cdinex, Diamantatura Aretina and Duedi an integral part of the group COAR.
From this moment, Coar, with its innate ability to satisfy ever-changing market demands, extended its product offerings from gold to silver, and from chains to a variety of trendy, innovative and modern jewellery.
In 2013, Coar celebrated its 50th year of business and successful relations; an important milestone and a strong incentive to strive for even more.
The current corporate configuration comprises CDI (Coar International Distribution) as the operating branch of the company, specializing in the manufacture and sale of silver chains and jewellery, and Coar 56AR as the financial and administrative branch.
Today, the company boasts a distribution network spread over 60 countries across the world; from North to South America, from Europe to Africa and the Far East. It regularly takes part in the most important sector trade fairs, including those of Arezzo, Vicenza, and Hong Kong.
